UK Architects Declare Climate and Biodiversity Emergency

PARKdesigned Architects have signed the open letter for the Architects Declare campaign, declaring a climate and biodiversity emergency and calling to make a commitment to a positive action in response.

Over 600 Architects practices have signed the open letter which was initiated as a collective declaration by 17 past winners of the RIBA Stirling Prize.

The twin crises of climate breakdown and biodiversity loss are the most serious issue of our time. Buildings and construction play a major part, accounting for nearly 40% of energy-related carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions whilst also having a significant impact on our natural habitats.

PARKdesigned are committed in design and helping to create architecture that has a positive impact on the environment. Recent work that highlights our commitment is the Cross Green Energy Centre that will help reduce carbon emissions by 22,000 tonnes per year.

We encourage all UK architectural practices to join the declaration.
