Streetspace CPD

PARKdesigned recently had a virtual CPD from StreetSpace on the Designing Effective Waste & Recycling Storage and Cycle Storage. The CPD delivered by Nigel Deacon and Jayden Spurgeon provided a great insight on the best ways to design the storage.

Cycle storage and waste storage is often something that designers tend to leave until the end rather than incorporating it in the design from the beginning. With 40% of the population owning a bike it is critical to have the correct storage on any scheme. An example where we incorporated cycle storage at the beginning of a scheme was the recently planning approved 70 unit scheme in Telford. The approach taken for this development was to move the future resident away from the dependency of the car and more towards a greener approach.
