New Building at the Nottingham City Hospital

PARKdesigned have recently started work on a new energy centre at the Nottingham City Hospital. The proposed Energy Centre replaces the aging coal fired equipment currently supplying the Nottingham City Campus. With the difficult gradients of the site the proposed building has been stepped and also has an economic footprint to help reduce the overall impact. The Energy Centre will utilise the combined Heat and Power generation which will lower the hospitals current emissions.

The building is part of a larger District Heating scheme that will provide heating and energy for the City Hospital with more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly technologies, resulting in a lower carbon footprint of the site. The key benefits of the District Heating scheme are -

  • 27,000 CO2 savings a year

  • 85km pipework

  • 5,000 domestic customers and 100 commercial customers
