Manygates Building 7 Wakefield
PARKdesigned are delighted to share with you an update regarding Manygates Building 7. We are currently working on the building regulations aspect of the scheme having already had planning permission approved for the project.
As you may be aware, we have been involved in this scheme for some time, having already completed Building 2 and Building 3. The site on which Building 5 will be built is ready for work to begin and Building 7 is not far off now with just the building regulations information left to submit. The aforementioned Building 2 is fully complete and contains 18 apartments while Building 3 is also fully complete and contains 16 apartments.
When completed, Building 7 will house 6 two-bedroom apartments and will feature undercroft parking. If you're unaware, undercroft parking used to describe a ground-level parking area that occupies the footprint of the building. There will be 3 apartments on the first floor and 3 more apartments on the second floor. Each unit will feature separate bathrooms as well as an open plan living, cooking, and dining area.
The site is of historical importance because of how the site’s existing buildings had been used previously. Building 2 is a former maternity hospital and had fallen into a state of disrepair prior to our involvement while Building 3 was home to Edward Green and was later turned into the doctors’ quarters for a new purpose-built maternity hospital in the 1930s.
We have been involved with this large scale scheme since 2020 and with the pace at which things have progressed thus far, we are certain to have another update for you soon.
