Charlotte House
We have recently finalised the Planning Information for a project at a warehouse in Manchester. Charlotte House is a Grade II listed building located a stone’s throw away from spots like Piccadilly Gardens and the National Football Museum in the city centre. The building is attached on its South-Western side to another grade II listed sandstone neoclassical building (45 Faulkner St) that currently houses a beauticians and printers. Charlotte Street was built by Edward Walters in 1855 as a warehouse for Manchester Associated Mills and served as a textile merchants’ warehouse. The building has two elaborate entrances. The one on Charlotte Street is place asymmetrically in bay 4. The building is located within the George Street Conservation area of Manchester.
The project is to transform and revamp the neglected site from top to bottom, making it more in line with modern Manchester architecture. The warehouse dates back to 1857, when it was built, and through a blend of different architectural features and details with top of the range digital and mechanical infrastructure, it will become a contemporary office space that celebrates its history.
