WAKEFIELD PLANNING PERMISSION
PARKdesigned have obtained planning approval for a charred timber rear and side single storey extension in Wakefield. The existing house has been re-designed to provide the family with a modern open plan kitchen/living/dining area at the rear.
The main objective from the client was to design something modern that provides a view to their favourite part of the garden. The sliding doors on the corner of the extension fulfils this requirement and also allows the space to spill out onto a new patio area. We have also proposed a large rooflight on the flat roof to provide additional daylight into the middle of the house.
The cladding will be charred timber a modern application of the ancient Japanese art of charring timber to provide a long lasting timber cladding.
We are now progressing the Building Regulations drawings and hopefully will be on-site later this year.
