PARKdesigned were appointed to re-invigorate a stalled construction project at 1-3 Station Road Sunbury. The original project (an office to residential permitted development scheme) had stopped on site, when the contractor had gone into liquidation, with a partially erected frame and the building left open to the elements. We were requested to investigate how to move the project forward and we proposed (after consulting with the local authorities) to demolish the existing building and replace this with a new contemporary scheme.
The proposed development increased the number of residential units on the site from 33 to 65 apartments, all of which are designed to meet national space standards. The scheme also includes a ground floor retail unit and communal gardens and terraces.
