RETAIL PLANNING APPROVAL

PARKdesigned have been granted planning approval for the reinstatement of an existing retail unit in Halifax following a recent fire. The proposal is for the entire street facade to be demolished and replaced due to the unsafe structural nature of the wall and the lack of support at low level. The reinstated retail unit will be accessed at ground floor with 2no. one bed self-contained apartments above.

From the concept stage PARKdesigned entered into early discussions with the Principal Conservation Officer to ensure that the Planning application ran as smoothly as possible. PARKdesigned developed numerous options for the front facade and agreed a preferred scheme with the Principal Conversation Officer which offers a contemporary design but acknowledges the architectural street vernacular.
