PARKdesigned are currently looking at a residential development for a private client. The site presents a logical opportunity to redevelop an underused site and bring a brownfield area of land into residential usage in a desirable area close to employment centres. Adopting a sensitive material approach, drawing on the local rural Architectural vernacular to create a range of bespoke house styles, will provide accommodation on the site that roots itself into the locality and overall context of the Special Landscape area presenting an attractive development overall.
The starting point for developing viable possibilities has been to identify areas where units could be feasibly located without affecting views, existing highways, access and overall buildability. The preferred strategy presents a strong frontage to the main road with parking for the 3 storey houses located in a private court. A single dwelling above the garaging provides natural surveillance across this area.
