Residential Extension Leeds
PARKdesigned Architects are nearing completion on a rear extension and house renovation in Leeds. The house has been extended to provide an open plan kitchen/living/dining, WC and Utility. As well as the extension the house has been fully re-wired and re-plumbed. A new first floor bathroom has also been designed.
Externally the rear extension has been clad in shou sugi ban burnt cedar to provide a long lasting and striking appearance. Burnt cedar from Millboard will also feature for the decking.
Internally the extension is filled with natural light from the large sliding doors, rooflight and slot window. The wood theme has been continued internally by glulam beams being left exposed and a plywood kitchen. The glulam beams provide something different internally that you do not expect and also give the feel of additional height. The bespoke birch faced plywood kitchen compliments the exposed glulams with the tall units being finished in a blush pink. Bespoke storage that doubles up as bench seating have also been designed which will sit neatly in the extension.
