PLANNING APPROVAL FOR MIXED USE DEVELOPMENT CAMBERLEY

PARKdesigned are pleased to of received planning permission this week for their mixed use development consisting of 79no. residential properties, 2no. retail units and 19no. car parking spaces on a prominent town centre site in Camberley.

The site is currently occupied by Kings Court, a residential scheme converted under permitted development. In addition to this existing accommodation, the extension building proposes 49no. additional apartments spread over six floors. The proposed extension will have a new separate entrance but will conjoin to, and share the escape stairs, at the corners of the existing building. The proposal will not affect the existing roads and provides 19no. additional car parking spaces (including 1no. disabled bay) for both retail staff and residents within the site boundary.

Integral to our design was the development of the key corner of Portesbery Road and High Street. We feel that we have produced a scheme that has a strong presence, which wraps the corner, completing the building line. The massing of the development is reduced as the top two floors step back from the building line.
