New build house Wakefield

PARKdesigned have recently completed a new build dwelling in Wakefield. The existing dormer bungalow was demolished to make way for a modern 5 bedroom home. The house provides the client with a modern open kitchen/living/dining area, a document transfer entrance for the funeral business, separate lounge and study on the ground floor with 5 bedrooms including a master suite spread over the remaining upper floors.

The key to the design was that the clients receive documents at all times of the day due to the nature of their business therefore they needed a home that not only has a front door but also a business door. Rather than have two separate doors that felt ‘stuck on’, a large cutout on the ground floor was designed as a feature to help bring the entrances together.

A simple but modern palette of materials of long thin mystique bricks, stone for the cut out and aluminium framed windows were chosen to give the home a distinct look for the area.
