Kerrs Angling – A New Chapter for a Local Institution

We are pleased to share the completion of our latest commercial project for Kerrs Angling, one of the region’s most respected suppliers of angling equipment. The shop is now open to the public and marks a significant step forward for this long-established business. Located in Morley, just outside Leeds, the new premises offer a refreshed retail experience and demonstrate what can be achieved when design is aligned with the client’s operational needs and commercial ambitions.

Kerrs Angling approached PARKdesigned Architects with a clear vision. They wanted to modernise their retail space while retaining the approachable and community-driven feel that has made them a favourite among local anglers. Our commercial architecture team based in Leeds worked closely with them to deliver a building that balances practical retail requirements with a clean contemporary aesthetic.

The scheme involved the full redevelopment of an existing unit into a purpose-built retail outlet tailored to Kerrs’ specific operational model. The design includes an open plan interior that allows for maximum product visibility and customer flow, as well as back-of-house areas that support efficient stock management and online order fulfilment. Externally, the building has been given a fresh identity with crisp lines and a new signage strategy that improves visibility and reinforces the brand’s presence within the community.

This project demonstrates our ongoing commitment to creating commercially successful spaces that serve their users while respecting their context. As Leeds commercial architects, we understand that retail environments must work hard for our clients. They need to draw people in, reflect the brand, and offer a level of flexibility to respond to changing retail landscapes. The new Kerrs Angling shop does all of this and more.

Our approach at PARKdesigned is to collaborate closely with clients, ensuring that our designs are not only visually engaging but commercially effective. In this case, the results speak for themselves. The new shop is already attracting increased footfall and positive feedback from customers who appreciate the improved layout and overall experience.

We are proud to have played a role in helping Kerrs Angling write the next chapter in their business story and look forward to seeing how they continue to thrive in their new space.
