HUDDERSFIELD BRITVIC SITE

PARKdesigned were invited to design a masterplan of the dis-used Britvic site in Huddersfield. The site is located opposite The Magic Rock Brewery and has been vacant for a number of years. Our proposal for the project involves the partial demolition of the existing facility by removing the ad hoc extensions which are not of architectural merit, reinstating the original stone building, to provide a welcoming frontage to the scheme. The original building will accommodate the office and administration functions of the church on the upper levels with some of the community activity spaces on the ground floor. We then propose to create new, purpose built spaces, to accommodate specific functions such as the auditorium and sports hall. Our proposal caters for a phased approach where buildings and facilities can be added over time as required.
