Energy Centre at Hebburn
Our Energy Centre at Hebburn is well underway with the latest pictures from site showing that the cladding has started to be fitted. The facility developed with South Tyneside Council will provide low-carbon energy to local homes and businesses. The energy centre is a CHP plant (combined heat and power) that will generate electricity and heat by using natural gas as its primary fuel source.
The energy centre will be named the Paul Younger Energy Centre after Professor Paul Younger one of the region’s pioneering scientists, who played a key role in the bid to make Newcastle a City of Science and Technology.
The project that will complete by the end of this year will deliver carbon savings of approximately 319 tonnes per year. To see more about the project please click the button below.
