CO-OP Ambleside

PARKdesigned are pleased to have some final photographs of the much improved CO-OP store in Ambleside. This CO-OP was not the normal refurbishment scheme with extensive ground works carried out to allow for additional store space. The entire sales floor was lowered 900mm to remove the existing stepped access and to provide a fully accessible space. Also in order to double the sales space over 100 tonnes of bedrock was removed.

We are also pleased that local materials were used for the scheme with 24 tonnes of slate supplied by Honister mine in Keswick. Other key features of the scheme are the much improved welfare facilities and twice as many till points as the old store. A great achievement by all the team.
