 ABOUT THE PROJECT

The Nottingham City Hospital Energy Centre is a facility located on the campus of the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust in the city of Nottingham. The energy centre provides heating, cooling, and electricity to the hospital, which is one of the largest teaching hospitals in the country.

The energy centre uses a combination of natural gas-fired boilers and combined heat and power (CHP) engines to generate heat and electricity. The CHP engines are highly efficient and generate electricity and heat simultaneously, which reduces energy waste and makes the hospital's operations more cost-effective and environmentally friendly.

The Nottingham City Hospital Energy Centre is also equipped with a range of energy-saving measures, such as heat recovery systems and energy-efficient lighting, which further reduce the hospital's carbon footprint and help to keep energy costs down.

The energy centre is part of the Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust's commitment to reducing its environmental impact and achieving sustainable growth. The hospital is working to reduce its carbon emissions and energy consumption through a range of measures, including investing in renewable energy sources and implementing energy-efficient technologies.

Overall, the Nottingham City Hospital Energy Centre is an important example of how hospitals and other large-scale facilities can adopt sustainable energy practices to reduce their environmental impact, lower costs, and ensure long-term operational sustainability.
