TEMPLE WORKS LEEDS

PARKdesigned visited Temple Works in Leeds last week as part of building visits organised by the Leeds Society of Architects. We were treated to a full tour of the building, seeing the roof where sheep used to graze and also what was once the largest room in the world. The Grade 1 listed Victorian former flax mill has a facade modelled on the Temple of Horus at Edfu in Egypt designed by Joseph Bonomi the Younger and built by John Marshall (industrialist) between 1836 and 1840.
