Country Estate

PARKdesigned were recently asked by a private client to review part of their estate and create an innovative, creative and community-led space with the existing buildings to be re-used where possible.

Using the existing site as an underlay, we begun to organise key spaces of the development by their relationship to each other. Preserving key views and lines of sights, alongside direct links to spaces was imperative at the early design stage.

The key spaces required were as below -

  • Farm Shop & Cafe

  • Central Courtyard

  • Woodland Play Area

  • Retail Space

  • Tap room Bar

  • Play Barn

  • Workshops & Rentals

One of the main objectives was to provide a development that was low carbon. With the construction industry contributing to 50% of the global emissions, and consuming over half of all raw materials, we feel it was imperative and our duty as architects to prioritise low-carbon design into the project.

The project is on-going so watch this space. In the meantime to see more of our commercial work please click the button below.
