PARKdesigned were asked to transform ITVs existing building on Kirkstall Road into a mix of studios and offices over five floors. The building also needed to have an impact on the existing street scene. A contemporary glass frontage was designed that also can double up as a large TV screen. The studio is home to the regional news programme ITV News Calendar, which covers the Yorkshire and Lincolnshire regions. It also produces other regional programming, including the magazine show "The Yorkshire Vet" and the drama series "Emmerdale". The site has a long history, dating back to its construction in 1968, and has been the home of a number of different production companies and television channels over the years.
