PARKdesigned were asked by the client to transform their existing ground floor which did not work and created dark and awkward shaped rooms. The new layout created a large open plan kitchen/dining/living that is flooded with natural light from the 6m sliding door. By eliminating the existing walls, the space at the rear of the property now appears larger and more expansive. It has also created a seamless flow and allows for easy interaction and communication between different zones of the home. The new open plan space promotes social interaction and connectivity among family members and guests. It allows people to engage in conversations, watch television, and cook or dine together without being separated by walls.

Without extending a new utility, pantry, separate lounge, play room and office was also designed. The existing floor was removed and replaced with underfloor heating that is powered by a new ground source heat pump. The first floor master suite was also changed to provide the client with a new walk-in-wardrobe along with a new en-suite.
