 about the project

PARKdesigned leading conservation architects in Leeds, were commissioned to refurbish Chadwick Lodge, a Grade II listed Georgian manor house on Crown Point Road, south of the River Aire. Originally built around 1785 for textile businessman John Chadwick, this historic building exemplifies classical Georgian architecture and holds significant heritage value.

The project involved sensitively restoring and adapting the property into high-specification music recording studios and offices. Our approach balanced the preservation of its historic features with the integration of modern facilities, ensuring the building remains functional while retaining its architectural integrity. Original period details were carefully restored, while contemporary upgrades provided the necessary infrastructure for its new use.

As part of the second phase, the roof space was converted to include a new staircase leading to a kitchen, lounge, bathroom, and bedroom, enhancing the building’s usability while respecting its heritage. This sympathetic adaptation ensured the longevity of Chadwick Lodge as a working space that honours its historical significance.

PARKdesigned specialises in conservation architecture in Leeds, transforming listed buildings with innovative yet respectful design solutions.
