About Ed

Edward has a wealth of experience across the commercial, residential and transport sectors, with particular knowledge in private and public housing working on both physical and theoretical projects. His theoretical interest has enabled him to become actively involved in the RIBA and currently is a studio Tutor at Leeds University.

ALTRINCHAM INTERCHANGE – GMPTE

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Design / Project Architect for the £10m remodeling of the existing bus and train station into a cohesive interchange. The work included the refurbishment of the Victorian station, the addition of a new accommodation block and the introduction of a new pedestrian footbridge and 100metre concourse canopy. Edwards’s involvement was to redesign the approved bid project and develop the revised scheme to Building Regulations.

NETWORK RAIL YORK CAMPUS – NETWORK RAIL

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Design / Project Architect for this £35m flagship campus project comprises of a rail operating centre and a training centre. The operating centre will control all rail operations on the east coast main line. The training centre provides a state-of-the-art learning environment designed to meet the challenges of running a modern rail system. Edwards’s involvement included working from the initial competitive bid through to finalising the Building Regulations information.

MANCHESTER PICCADILLY MSCP – NETWORK RAIL

ABOUT THE PROJECT

Project Architect for the recladding and extension of the existing network rail car park. The scheme responds to the varied red brick colour palette used in the surrounding buildings, by using a corten steel rainscreen style cladding system with its inherent orange and red tones. The extension of the car park will raise its capacity by 223 spaces to 298.
