PARKdesigned were fortunate to have a sneak preview of the new First Direct Arena (Leeds Arena), thanks to a well organised event by RTPI Yorkshire (The Royal Town Planning Institute). After an interesting seminar by Phil Crabtree (Chief Planning Officer, Leeds City Council), John Thorp (Civic Architect) and Tim Hart (Principal Planner, Leeds City Council), we had the pleasure of visiting the new First Direct Arena.

RICS PRO Yorkshire Awards 2013

PARKdesigned were nominated for two awards (Commercial and Design&Innovation) at the RICS awards 2013. The RICS Awards showcase the most inspirational regional initiatives and developments in land, property, construction and the environment. The awards are open to everyone working in these professions. The 2013 RICS Awards received the highest number of entries (602) to date by the February deadline.

The ceremony took place on Friday 26th April and unfortunately PARKdesigned did not win in either category. We were extremely pleased to be nominated and a great night was had by all. Thank you to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

Work Completed on 98 South Parade

The proposed internal alterations and rear yard excavation have now been completed at 98 South Parade Pudsey. The internal alterations consisted of opening the kitchen and dining room into one space with a new kitchen and the removal of basement walls to provide extra storage space.

PARKdesigned short-listed at the RICS Awards 2013

PARKdesigned are pleased to announce that their collaborative project with Duke Studios has been short-listed for the both the Design & Innovation and Commercial categories at the RICS Pro-Yorkshire Awards 2013.

Duke Studios is a multidisciplinary creative space which has given Yorkshire’s brightest minds all the thinking space they need. In an ambitious urban regeneration project, the 7000sqft space in Munro House overlooking Leeds bus station has been transformed into an open plan, design-led haven for creative collaboration.

The project is a mixture of studio spaces, co-working and desk rentals which all have individual designs. Duke Studios has become a creative hub in which facilitates knowledge exchange, encourages networking, spark collaboration on joint projects and stimulates business growth.

Through careful design and resourceful thinking a dilapidated and dated space has been given a new lease of life. Not only the space but Leeds itself has had a much needed creative boost and a new creative community has been born.
